PROJECT
GREEN
When we catch a wave or snowboard through fresh powder, we feel incredibly close to nature. Although nature still gives us so much joy, we also see that this playground, our home, is under threat. Every winter, we see glaciers shrink and unfortunately, we also know what it’s like to surf in plastic soup.
More than ever, we appreciate all what mother earth has to offer and we feel the responsibility to take care of this playground. Therefore, we try to do as much as possible, as a company, to work more sustainable and minimize our impact on the environment.
Every year, we aim to develop our collections greener than before and we try to work as much as possible with sustainable resources. We have looked into every single detail of our work processes and found solutions to reduce, reuse and recycle.
We limit our carbon footprint and reduce the use of irresponsible materials as much as possible. We reduce the use of water and chemicals in our production processes, the amount of samples, the amount of hang tags on each product, shipments by combining deliveries as much as possible, and so on.
Reusing materials involves our whole supply chain. We reuse cardboard boxes coming from our suppliers in our logistic centre, but also reuse left-over fabrics or materials, such as zippers, in our production processes.
Recycling involves every aspect in our businesses. More than 63% of our collection is now made from recycled materials. But we also recycle boxes in our warehouse, use recycled materials in our packaging and recycle paper waste at our office.

OUR
PRODUCT
Every year, we aim to develop our collections greener than before and we try to work as much as possible with sustainable resources. We have looked into every single detail of our work processes and found solutions to reduce, reuse and recycle.
We choose low-impact and responsibly sourced materials
/ Organic Cotton
/ Recycled Polyester
/ Recycled Polyamide
We give a product a sustainable label when the main fabric/source of a product is made from sustainable material. This also means that the main fabric, organic cotton or recycled polyester/polyamide in our case, should be at least 50% of the total product.
A recycled insulation is used for most of the padded jackets.
Most of our softshells are PFC free.
Brunotti uses "swim hangers" in-store to hang swimsuits and bikinis. All Brunotti "swimwear hangers" are made of recycled plastic.
Swim- and snow wear are our main product groups, so we will have a closer look upon these categories:
All mix and match bikinis are made from recycled polyester, and most bikini paddings contain a certified OEKOTEX label.
9% of the total SS23 collection
65% contains a recycled material
The majority of our snow jackets and snow pants has a recycled insulation. Also focus is to increase the percentage of using a recycled outer shell.
58% of the total FW22 collection
35% contains recycled material and recycled padding
71% contains recycled padding
All boardshorts are made from recycled polyester and the CrunECO, our best-selling short, which is available in more than 18 colours is made from recycled sources
54% of the total SS23 collection
99% contains a recycled material
All Brunotti boardshorts are made from recycled polyester.
Although, a 100% sustainable wetsuit doesn't yet exist, we also believe that every single step can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Our new sweat-program is made from organic cotton. Moreover, our basic women's tee (the Salina), men's tees (the Axle and TavECO), and several men's shorts (the CaldECO and CambECO) are made from organic cotton.

Although, a 100% sustainable wetsuit doesn't yet exist, we also believe that every single step can contribute to a more sustainable future. By adopting more eco-friendly wetsuit technologies, such as the use of carbon black, neoprene left-overs, recycled polyester, dope-dyed yarn and water based glue, we are now able to produce wetsuits greener than before. With this, we are pioneering in the field of developing eco-friendly wetsuits. Meaning that our 2020 wetsuits are the most eco-friendly alternative in the current market. Brunotti uses "swim hangers" in-store to hang swimsuits and bikinis. All Brunotti "swimwear hangers" are made of recycled plastic.
You will find a hangtag on all of our products. A hangtag contains information about the product like the price, but also information about our product materials. All Brunotti hangtags are made from FSC paper, moreover we also use less paper by dealing smarter with hangtags on products. In 2021, we use 50% less paper for our hangtags compared to 2020.
OUR
COMPANY
As humans we have a lot of freedom, but also a lot of responsibility to take care of our planet. Unfortunately, the effects of the choices we make are not always positive.
In order to reduce or even eliminate the impact of these negative consequences, it is important that we take back our responsibility in the right way. As a company, we do this in visible and less visible ways. We are convinced that every little bit contributes to creating a better and cleaner world. By doing this together, small steps make a big difference. Below you can read which changes we have made within our company and in our business operations.
The Brunotti HQ only uses LED lighting and economic fluorescent beams. Each department has its own central light circuit and specific areas have motion detectors. We only use green energy generated by wind farms.
We try to limit the usage of resources in our working processes. All paper is FSC certified and we minimize the use of our printers, we have a ‘’think before you ink’’ policy and donate our empty cartridges to the ‘’Cliniclowns’’ fund. We limit the capacity of screens, laptops, and phones.
Our warehouse is C02 neutral. Electricity is generated by 3.000 solar panels that were installed in 2018. We generate so much solar energy that we give energy back to the network. The warehouse uses LED lightning and is heated by a wooden chip stove.
Marketing materials, such as displays or sign cards, are made from FSC paper or recycled cardboard.
We limit the impact of our packaging in different ways. We ship everything in bulk packaging, so less packaging is needed. We reuse all the boxes in our warehouse which are coming from the manufacturer. All polybags are made from recycled plastic and our new boxes to the end-consumer are made from FSC cardboard or 100% recycled cardboard.
Every desk has its own recycling bins (paper and waste) and paper is 100% recycled by Remondis.
We also try to reduce the impact on the environment in the logistics processes. We pay attention to the amount of packaging materials we use. For example, clothing is packed in bulk packaging, so less plastic and cardboard is needed. We also make conscious choices on the transport itself. We do this by working with transport companies who also find sustainability important.
Our warehouse is completely CO2 neutral!
Electricity is generated by Solar panels that were installed in 2018. We generated so much energy, that we give back the leftover energy to supply the network. Besides that, we heat up our warehouse via wood stoves that are fired on wood chips.
All boxes, in which Brunotti goods are shipped from the manufacturer, are reused. We consciously inform our customers with an indication on the boxes that they receive used boxes. We do this to work on waste reduction (reduce) and ask them to have the boxes recycled. New boxes are made from FSC cardboard or 100% recycled cardboard.
Residual waste goes to incineration plants from which energy is generated. All boxes are also reused at the head office. Boxes that are not suitable for reuse for sending our goods to retailers, are stored separately and given to a charity for use.
